Dr Ian Crump | Dentist Caloundra / Maroochydore

Ian Crump is one of the main contributors in making Avenue Dental what it is today. Ian purchased the Caloundra practice from Richard in 2005 with no real intentions of running a large practice, however, the practice became overwhelmed with referrals and an expansion occurred in January 2007. Ian was dedicated on providing a high quality dental practice and is extremely excited that our patients value the level of complete care provided.

It was, and still is, his intention to provide dentistry to the highest level of quality rather than to a price. It seems that our patients agree to the extent that the practice has expanded from three clinicians to twelve, in just over three years. He is also excited that finding exemplary clinicians is no longer a concern as they generally contact him.

The demand for the services of Avenue Dental is now at capacity, so, a new practice of the same size and quality opened in Maroochydore in June 2010. Don’t worry, Ian plans for new patients at both practices; so please do not think that we can’t see new patients at Caloundra; he will welcome your telephone call.

Ian led an interesting life, having pursued many short-term careers in his early twenties. He holds a pilot’s licence, has driven a taxi, and was even a professional musician before he settled down to study dentistry in his mid twenties. After many years of nursing, science and dentistry, Ian graduated in 1999 and moved to Charleville in Western Queensland. In Charleville, Ian had one of the largest dental practices (by area) in the world. He spent countless hours travelling around the “bush” providing dental care for everyone between Roma, Longreach and the borders of Queensland.

Having turned down many opportunities of employment elsewhere, Ian met Richard in Caloundra expecting “just another dental practice,” yet, was astounded by the care, staff and vision of Avenue Dental. Consequently, Ian moved to Caloundra in 2003. Ian is passionate about dentistry. He is amazed that people can not see “how working in someone’s mouth” can be so fascinating and rewarding. He is fascinated by the technological advances in dentistry and is extremely excited by the prospects of future improvements. He, and his team, spend countless hours on further education and training to ensure the highest level of care.

Ian is firmly entrenched on the Sunshine Coast. He firmly believes that dentistry is a dynamic profession. For this reason, Ian constructed a conference and training facility within the Caloundra practice to aid in dentist and dental assistant training to the highest level. Ian also believes that his staff are his family. He is extremely proud of the wonderful team of young ladies that present to work each day with smiles on their faces.
