At Avenue Dental we offer a no out of pocket expense 1 hour comprehensive dental examination and x-rays for private dental health fund members. For non-private dental health fund members, this dental exam costs $85.
We believe that cost should not be a large barrier to people seeking the best possible quality dental care. That is why we have heavily discounted this initial consultation: so that people can better understand their dental condition, to reduce barriers to people seeking help, and to best serve the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane community. We feel that helping to educate people so that they can understand what is happening in their mouth empowers people to take control of their oral and dental health.

Our commitment to comprehensive dental care is a great experience for new patients. For many people it has been a while since their last dental visit. We all know that we should be visiting the dentist every 6 months to maintain the health of our gums and to catch any problems early before they turn into major issues. However, life often gets in the way. Whether it is nervousness or anxiety about the dentist, cost of dental treatment, embarrassment about the state of your teeth, moving to the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane, busy with work or kids or your dental health has not been a priority for a time we are not here to judge, we are here to help.
Comprehensive dental exam
A comprehensive dental examination means that we can fully assess your oral health and in collaboration with you put together a plan to get the results you are after. For some people, they just want to be out of pain. Other people want to keep their teeth for life. Still others want to be able to smile with confidence again after letting the condition of their teeth slide. We can discuss payment plans, and health fund rebates with you. Our goal is to educate you about the condition of your teeth so that you can decide the best course of action for yourself to get the results you are after.
The highest level of care
At our comprehensive dental exam, we put enough time aside to get to know you and your concerns before we embark on treatment. You will be amazed at what modern dentistry can achieve. All you need to do is ask and you will probably be pleasantly surprised at what we can do for you. Many patients comment how thorough their exam was. This is because we not only deal with things that are problems now but we look at making you aware of potential long-term problems. Then it is up to you if you want to prevent them or wait until they occur to fix them. By dealing with both short-term issues and making you aware of any long-term issues, we feel we are giving you the highest level of care.
Reducing treatment barriers
We intentionally keep the fee for this first visit low to reduce barriers people may have to seeking help, and so that people feel more inclined to visit the dentist earlier rather than waiting until they have a major problem. For people with a private health fund we will only charge the dental health fund so there will be no out of pocket expense to you. If you do not have a private health fund then the fee will be $85. This fee is standard no matter what x-rays, tests and further investigations are required by the dentist to comprehensively examine your oral health and to come up with a plan to solve any problems you may have.
