“I would like whiter teeth” is a common request from our patients. At Avenue Dental, we provide two forms of teeth whitening. The first is traditional “take home” kits that involve custom made trays. These custom made trays are usually worn for 60 minutes per evening just prior to going to bed. Generally a full treatment course is for ten to fourteen days, however we can’t fight nature, so after three to six months your teeth will more than likely slowly darken/stain. Anything that can stain a white t-shirt can stain your teeth for example tea, coffee and red wine. The beauty of having custom trays is that a two night “top-up” treatment every six months is usually all that you need to keep your dazzling white smile!

Often, we find that our patients wish for instant results. For this, we use our second whitening method ZOOM! Whitening. ZOOM! Whitening is a one visit procedure that takes approximately 90 minutes involving two to four, twenty-minute applications of whitening agent with an activating light. ZOOM! Whitening is excellent in that you see a visible result on the day! However, like all whitening services, nature takes over and you will slowly darken/stain and for this reason, we like to include a set of custom made trays that allows you to “top-up” your whitening every six-months. This usually only requires two evenings to bring you back to the smile you want.

Every time you come in for your regular scheduled hygiene visit you will receive a free “top up” syringe of whitening gel to keep your teeth white and healthy looking.
