If a tooth is moderately damaged and a filling will not be strong enough, your dentist may suggest an inlay or onlay. They are long lasting ceramic restorations that both look and feel like your own teeth. If the tooth is severely damaged, this type of restoration may not be adequate and your dentist may prefer to place a crown.
