Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Maintaining excellent dental health for our children throughout their childhood provides them with the best possible chance of maintaining excellent dental health in adulthood.  This is why the Australian Federal Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule is such an important public health initiative.

At Avenue Dental, we are proud to offer fully Bulk Billed dental services under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule at each of our Avenue Dental Sunshine Coast and Brisbane dental practices.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is designed to provide dental care to approximately 3.4million Australian children aged from 2 to 17 years old.   The Child Dental Benefits Schedule covers up to $1,000 over a 2 calendar year period for basic dental services such as dental exams, dental x-rays, dental fillings, fissure sealants, extractions, root canals and partial dentures. The CDBS $1,000 is replenished every two years.

At Avenue Dental on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane we have been bulk billing the treatment for children under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule at our Caloundra, Kawana, Maroochydore, Bli Bli, North Lakes, Baringa, Sippy Downs, Tewantin, Murrumba Downs, Beerwah and Woolloongabba dental practices since its inception.

We have been overwhelmed by the positive response of the community to this government initiative and it has been extremely rewarding to help so many deserving children achieve excellent dental health.

At each of our Sunshine Coast and Brisbane dental practices we offer the full range of dental services specified in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

To be eligible to claim the $1,000 worth of dental care under the CDBS, you will need to be eligible for Medicare, receive a Family Tax Benefit Part A or equivalent government payment for at least part of the calendar year and be aged from 2 to 17 years for at least one day of the calendar year.
