Surgical at Avenue Dental
At Avenue Dental we work closely with Maxillofacial Surgeons and Paediatric Specialists to coordinate surgical procedures for children, if they are required.
Some children have complicated situations that require oral surgery. This can be for a variety of reasons including:
- Complicated extractions of baby or adult teeth
- Removal of extra teeth
- Removal of impacted teeth
- Removal of unerupted teeth
- Removal of oral pathology lesions
- Treatment of gum conditions
These conditions can cause significant stress for the child and parents. They can also impact on the normal development of your child’s mouth.
If your child requires oral surgery, they will be referred by one of our dentists to our Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon at Avenue Dental Caloundra and Avenue Dental Kawana on the Sunshine Coast. Maxillofacial surgeons are highly trained in both dentistry and medicine including surgical operations. They can safely undertake a variety of surgical treatments of malformations of the mouth, teeth, jaws and all associated structures.
Alternatively, depending on individual clinical presentations, your child may be referred to specialist Paediatric Dentists Dr Tim and Dr Sarah, at the Children’s Dental Centre here on the Sunshine Coast. Dr Tim and Dr Sarah have a wonderful manner with children and can help to perform surgical procedures on your child.
