Dr Rita Goulart and Dentistry
Dr Rita Goulart grew up in Brazil and since very young was determined to be a dentist. She attended the Lutheran University of Brazil where she obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with honours in 2001. In 2003, Rita moved to New Zealand, and subsequent in 2006 to Australia, where she stablished on the Sunshine Coast since.
Rita is passionate about providing her patients with excellent standard of care; she seeks to understand their overall general health, wellbeing, and lifestyle to plan a holistic treatment that will have a positive impact on their long-term health.
In her advanced education, Rita completed a Mini Residency in Orthodontics for 3 years (with the philosophy of full-face orthodontics and non-extraction practices, focusing in improving overall breathing and sleeping of her patients). She started a master in sleep medicine at the University of Sydney, participated in extensive Invisalign training, Cosmetic dentistry (focusing on digital smile design, smile makeovers and veneers), and more recently her interest was directed to Facial Aesthetics and Rejuvenation (using botulin toxin, dermal fillers and laser treatments), which led her to study a diploma in Dermal Science.
Her latest addition to her knowledge repertoire: lasers. Currently enrolled in a Masters in Lasers, Rita is exploring new fields and applications for it.
Rita has written a few articles over the years with emphasis in prevention and education in dental health. She held an educational business parallel to her day time job to bring speakers and promote courses to other dentists in Australia. Rita values giving back to the community, she was involved in helping the local charities such as Sunny Kids and Steps, by volunteering her time and also donating.
Rita is very excited to be part of the Avenue Dental Maroochydore team and says “I feel very fortunate to be part of the Avenue Dental family. The team is committed to providing the best ever dental experience for our patients and make coming to work every day positive and fun through our amazing culture.”
Outside of dentistry, Rita enjoys spending time with her family and pets (cat Nala and dog Roxy). She likes to live a healthy lifestyle and will often be exercising at The Movement gym and running outdoors. She also has a hidden hobby of painting and drawing, and loves to explore the culinary world. Rita has a very positive energy and values influencing her colleagues and patients to be the best version of themselves.
