Hi my name is Stef. I have been working as a Dental Nurse for 13 years where I began my career in my home town of Dalby, QLD. I started working at Avenue Dental Maroochydore when I moved to the Sunshine Coast 3 years ago.
Since working at Avenue I have furthered my dental skills by working along side Dr Johan Weemaes in Implant surgery and Dr Greg Fine at Buderim hospital in Oral Surgery.
In June 2019 my Fiancé Michael and I welcomed our first child – beautiful baby boy Hayden Bill. He has kept us on our toes this year with his cheeky personality.
I have returned to work 2 days a week, working along side Dr Brendan Clarnette. I absolutely love coming in and seeing all of my work family, they have been so accommodating and supportive of me returning to work.
Dentistry never gets boring for me and I will continue to work in the dental industry at Avenue Dental for many years to come.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE CULTURE OF AVENUE DENTAL?
I love coming to work at Avenue dental. I have an 18month old son and before we had him I had worked full time hours in dental assisting for 12 years. After having time off for maternity leave, I thought I wouldn’t want to go back to work for years. But I found I really missed the interaction with work mates, and patients and I missed assisting in the chair along side the dentists I wanted to come back to work. Even though I can’t come back full time hours, all management staff have made it possible for me to work the days I can, and be super flexible and understanding of trying to have a family/ work life balance.
