Dr Sanchit Bhatia is a general dentist located at our North Brisbane practice at Avenue Dental Murrumba Downs. After graduating, Sanchit spent several years in private practice, all the while chasing clinical excellence and knowledge, being mentored by esteemed specialists and surgeons. During this time, he developed a keen interest in comprehensive and complex restorative dentistry, restoring smiles, placing and restoring dental implants and the removal of wisdom teeth.

Dr Sanchit Bhatia and Dentistry
Raised in Auckland (the ‘City of Sails’) in New Zealand, Sanchit moved to the region of Otago to study Dentistry, graduating from the only dental university in New Zealand, the University of Otago with a Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery.
His passion for implant surgery and comprehensive dentistry led him to several courses within New Zealand and internationally, including Sydney in 2019 where he met with Chris (our principle dentist at Avenue Dental Bli Bli and Tewantin). Sanchit had no plans of leaving New Zealand. However, Chris’ infectious personality, together with Avenue Dental’s philosophy of “positively transforming dentistry” and its “Great Place To work” awards, sparked Sanchit’s interest to visit Avenue Dental in Australia. As destiny would have it, Sanchit is excited to provide ‘’your best ever dental experience” at our Murrumba Downs Practice in Brisbane.
Dr. Sanchit is enthusiastic, warm and passionate about providing the best care for all his patients. He strongly believes in empowering patients to achieve and maintain their own oral health goals. Having a philosophy of providing care which considers each patient’s individual lifestyle, means Sanchit is comprehensive in his approach and believes it is crucial to understand his patients’ wants and needs before providing dental treatment.

His love for travel and cross-cultural immersion has seen him backpack through four continents across 14 countries, and allows him to connect with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds, making each patient feel welcome, comfortable and at ease.
While Sanchit enjoys all fields of dentistry, he is most passionate about restoring smiles and preserving chewing function through the provision of dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry and wisdom tooth surgery. What he loves most about this is the significant and positive life-changing impact this has on his patients’ overall wellbeing and confidence.

Being a sponge for knowledge, Sanchit’s growth mindset for life-long learning has him refining his skills with current research and training continually. Most recently, he has completed his year-long implant residency with the Ace Institute in New Zealand, which is accredited with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Sanchit aims to pursue and gain his fellowship with the ICOI next.
Sanchit believes that a rich learning experience involves giving back to the community professionally and personally. He maintains active registrations in both Australia and New Zealand, is a current member of the New Zealand Dental Association, and is a peer assessor for colleagues back home, supporting those around him grow. He has also been a committee member of the Auckland Dental
Association (ADA), and has had much joy assembling CE calendars for dentists for the ADA.
Sanchit very much enjoys giving back outside of dentistry as well. His previous voluntary adventures took him to South America, gathering and providing rations for local communities in Argentina, also receiving a Humanitarian & Environmental Grant.
Being born in India, Sanchit has an innate love of cricket! In his free time, he enjoys getting out into the sunshine, whether it’s a hike, socialising with family and friends, or exploring the city and its cuisine. When he is not outdoors, Sanchit enjoys the peace and calm in the kitchen, and can cook up an authentic ‘mum’s recipe’ curry, or a Penne he learnt from a grandma in Milan, or a hot laksa recipe from Singapore. Social board games are another enjoyment of Sanchit’s – rumor has it that he is undefeated in Articulate.
Like many, Sanchit found himself hooked onto Formula 1 after watching the Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’, and is extremely excited to go and experience the buzzing energy at the Melbourne Grand Prix! New to Queensland, Sanchit also welcomes any recommendations of places to eat, nature to explore and help in deciding between Aussie rules vs NRL!
