Avenue Dental offers a full range of dental services
Unlike most dentists, Avenue Dental offers a full range of dental services in house. This is because we have a large number dentists with different areas of interest within dentistry. We have each chosen to undertake dedicated post graduate training and education into the different fields of dentistry so that almost always we can treat your condition in house rather than having to refer you to another dentist.
When dentists graduate from university, they all have a similar skill set and are able to treat the more basic, most common dental problems. This might include being able to do fillings, complete extractions and do dental examinations. However, there are numerous more advanced aspects of dentistry that are not taught to a great extent at university. This might include procedures such as advanced root canal procedures, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation’s and smile makeovers, dental bridges, wisdom tooth extractions and orthodontics. To be able to become proficient in these more advanced procedures requires a passion and commitment to continuing education and lifelong learning.
To complicate things further, the pace of change within dentistry is the fastest it has ever been and is increasing with time. There are numerous treatments available today that were not around only five years ago. This means that dentists can no longer rely on their university education to sustain them throughout their practicing career. Instead, dentists today need to be extremely dedicated to their continuing education so that they can stay up to date with new procedures, new technologies and proper infection control procedures.
Two of the areas with some of the fastest paced change are cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. New advances in dental materials and technologies in recent years have meant that the standard of cosmetic dentistry has improved markedly. Today we can give people more beautiful, natural smiles that also function and last extremely well than ever before. Dental implants are becoming more popular with time. Advances in technologies, surgical procedures, and restorative solutions means that if you are missing a tooth, dental implants can be used to give you back as close as possible to your original function, feel and appearance.
