A preferred provider dentist is a dentist who has entered into a contractual arrangement with a health fund in return for the health fund referring them more patients. Contracted dentists are not preferred because of their dental ability or the quality of their dentistry, but because they agree to the fee criteria set by the health fund. This arrangement is set up to mutually benefit the dentist and the health fund.
Are Avenue Dental Preferred Providers?
At Avenue Dental we have elected to not be preferred providers, or members choice dentists, or to enter into these kind of contractual arrangements with private health funds. At Avenue Dental we believe in delivering our patients the highest quality dentistry as shown by our 5 year warranty on major dentistry. We believe in giving our patients the best ever dental experience and we get our patients to rate us on an ipad survey or Google review to make sure we are living up to this promise. We believe that entering into a contractual arrangement with a health fund would compromise our ability to deliver on these two points listed above.
Which Dentist Can I See?
At Avenue Dental we believe that people should be able to choose which dentist they want to see regardless of their health fund and that health fund rebates should be the same no matter which dentist a person chooses to see. We believe that freedom to choose your dentist helps maintain the high standards of dental care in Australia.
