Dr Mariana Leie is passionate about providing a warm and caring environment for her patients and takes great pride in making every dental visit comfortable. She believes having someone kind and gentle by your side in the dental chair is not only comforting but also crucial. As a result, she will go above and beyond to ensure that you have the best dental experience possible.
Mariana grew up in Southern Brazil where she obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. In 2014, she was awarded a scholarship and received an invitation to extend her studies for an additional year at the University of Adelaide.
It was during that time that she fell in love with Australia. In 2015, back in Brazil, she joined research project and earned a fellowship in the field of cosmetic dentistry and teeth whitening.
In 2019, Mariana moved to Sydney, where she completed the Australian Dental Council ( ADC) process to recognise her Brazilian degree, becoming a double qualified dentist. During her ADC exam preparations, she had the privilege of working with highly skilled specialists in Endodontics and Periodontics in North Sydney, learning from their expertise. In 2023, she moved from Sydney to Sunshine Coast and she couldn’t be happier about her choice . Mariana loves all facets of general dentistry but she has special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry. Smile Makeovers, Teeth Whitening, Clear Aligners ( Invisalign ) and Facial Aesthetics.
There’s no better feeling for her than seeing the impact of her work on her patients’ lives. Helping people to rediscover their confidence and self-esteem by enhancing their natural beauty, helping them become the best versions of themselves.
Dr. Leie has also developed a great passion for Facial Aesthetics. Since 2018, she has been enhancing her expertise in this field by undertaking a series of overseas courses. It is a specialized area within cosmetic dentistry that focuses on enhancing the appearance of a person’s face, including the symmetry of facial and dental features, as well as proportions.
The treatments encompass procedures such as therapeutic and cosmetic muscle relaxant/anti-wrinkle injections and Dermal Fillers, which are designed to rejuvenate, contour, or modify the face to achieve the desired outcome. Mari also believes that humility and a commitment to continuous improvement are fundamental values for any exceptional professional. To embody these values, she consistently engages in professional development, attending numerous courses and diligently upskilling herself so that she feels confident in offering the most up to date treatments to her patients.
Outside of dentistry, Mariana enjoys spending time with her partner and family. She loves hosting friends for Brazilian barbecues. Mariana is passionate about movement and exercise, so you’ll likely find her jogging along the coast, lifting weights at the gym, or kayaking around Currimundi Lake. She also has a secret hobby of interior decor design and landscaping. Mariana feels blessed to be part of the Avenue Dental Family and she can’t wait to care for you on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
