If you have dental anxiety and have found that distraction techniques  or IV sedation have not worked for you in the past you may require a General Anaesthetic for your dental treatment.

Our dentists offer a general anaesthetic service for your dental treatment at local hospitals on the Sunshine Coast.

What is General Anaesthetic?

A general anaesthetic causes a state of complete unconsciousness, and it is provided in a local hospital on the Sunshine Coast. You will feel no pain and have no recollection of the dental treatment that was provided for you. For all dental procedures under general anaesthetic, we work closely with anaesthetists. These are medical specialists, specifically trained and experienced in general anaesthesia.

Would I benefit from a General Anaesthetic?

Avenue Dental is proud to offer general anaesthesia for our patients on the Sunshine Coast. We have been offering this service since the 1990’s and have helped countless patients who have requested this service.

What are the costs of General Anaesthetic?

The dental fees for your treatment do not change. We are proud to offer this to you as an option – and do not alter the cost of our regular fee schedule. We also provide interest free payment plans to help spread the cost of your of your dental treatment.

You will find that the overall cost of your treatment will be higher due to the fees of the private hospital, as well as the anaesthetist. Thankfully, Medicare and private health funds (hospital + extras) do assist you these fees, however there is always an out of pocket expense for these two services.
