Dr Angela Chen is the principal dentist at Avenue Dental North Lakes and Avenue Dental Murrumba Downs. She has been working in both clinics from when they first opened and has loved meeting the North Brisbane community ever since. Angela loves all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in cosmetic crown and veneer dentistry, clear aligner orthodontics to straighten teeth, facial aesthetics and oral surgery.
About Angela
Dr Angela is originally from Sydney but has been living in Brisbane for over 10 years now and loves the warmer weather. She graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours. Angela chose to pursue dentistry as a career because she loves how it allows practitioners to treat the patient as a whole, beyond just a tooth. Angela prides herself on being gentle, approachable and understanding of every patient’s unique situation. It is very important to Angela that her patients have their dental needs met and walk out with a huge smile. Being able to transform her patient’s smile and allowing them to be confident in themself is the most rewarding aspect of dentistry for Angela.
When she is not in the clinic transforming smiles, you may find Dr Angela researching where to travel to next, lifting weights at the gym, catching up with friends at local cafes, and caring for her growing collection of plants. One of the most interesting things she has done in her life is hiking around Machu Picchu in Peru. Angela is excited to hear more fascinating stories from her patients!
Special Interests
Dr Angela’s passion lies within cosmetic crown and veneer dentistry, clear aligner orthodontics to straighten teeth and facial injectables. She enjoys solidifying and expanding her dental skills by attending multiple Continuing Professional Development courses throughout the year. Angela has undertaken a 2 year Graduate Diploma in Clear Aligner Orthodontics to further her skills in orthodontics and Invisalign. She has also undertaken further training in cosmetic injectables with Dermal Distinction Training Academy. This allows use of muscle relaxants and anti-wrinkle products improve the overall facial aesthetics and compliment the smile. Angela has completed 2 fellowship courses with the Australiasian Implant Academy to be able to provide implants at an excellent standard. She now offers all procedures with happy gas and IV sedation options, enabling anxious patients feel at ease.
