Dr Kristin Sorensen is a dentist who has been located at Avenue Dental Kawana for over 10 years. Kristin thrives on a holistic approach to dental care, paying attention to the big picture impact of oral health on the whole body and prevention of dental disease. Her focus is to help her patients achieve their dental goals and keep them smiling throughout their whole lives. Kristin enjoys all aspects of dentistry but has a special interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry including resin veneers, ceramic crowns, clear aligners and combined approaches to creating the perfect smile.
About Kristin
Kristin grew up in Brisbane’s southside where at a young age she decided becoming a dentist was her life’s passion. She was accepted to study at Griffith University on the Gold Coast where she graduated in 2012 with an Academic Excellence Award. After a year in Yeppoon, Central Queensland, she made the move to the Sunshine Coast to join the Avenue Dental family at Kawana, where 11 years later she considers both the Sunshine Coast and Avenue Dental Kawana her forever home.
Outside of work Kristin enjoys travelling to new places with her husband, cuddling on the couch with their grumpy devon rex cat Billie and exploring the beaches and outdoors of the Sunshine Coast with their overly enthusiastic Vizsla dog, Midas. She also enjoys very amateur muay thai training, live music and spending time with friends and family. Kristin feels very blessed to have found such a supportive team where she has formed lifelong friendships with the bonus of living in one of the best places in the world.
Special Interests
Kristin is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular interest in resin veneers as a conservative and cost-effective approach to giving patients a smile they love. She strongly believes in a conservative approach and focus on prevention, stopping the cycle of disease to maintain a beautiful and functional smile for life. She also enjoys clear aligners, general dentistry, ceramic crowns and bridgework, implants and paediatric dentistry. Kristin has a gentle and caring approach to all her patients, working with them to find the best solutions and approach to suit their individual needs and dental goals. This includes early screening and using tools and techniques such as nitrous oxide, IV sedation and other chairside techniques to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
