Dr Megan Wydell grew up in Cairns, Far North QLD and remained in her hometown to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University. During her time at JCU, Megan tackled various executive roles in JCU Dental Student Association, including Academic President. After some time working in public health in Caloundra, Megan couldn’t pass up the opportunity to call the Sunny Coast her new home. Megan was drawn to Avenue Dental after attending a professional development event at the Caloundra clinic. She found “The Avenue Way” of positively transforming dentistry, perfectly aligned with her career goals in excellence, growth and commitment to outstanding patient care. Thus, jumped at the opportunity to join the Avenue Dental Beerwah team.
About Megan
Dr Megan recognises the apprehension many patients feel when visiting the dentist and prides herself on giving patients a dental experience where they feel their concerns are heard, information is communicated clearly and that patients feel at ease in the dental chair. Furthermore, patients with dental anxiety and dental phobia attest to her empathetic, gentle approach, acknowledging that Dr Megan has restored their confidence in dentists, and that they will never miss their 6-monthly check-ups again! Dr Megan is committed to a patient-centred approach with a strong focus on patient education and preventative dentistry. Dr Megan is passionate in all aspects of dentistry, however, has a special interest in smile makeovers, full mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign.
Since Megan’s time on the Sunshine Coast, she has started learning to surf and is looking forward to hearing your surfing tips! During her free time Megan can be found at the beach or on weekend trips out on her partner’s boat. She enjoys live music, good food and most of all spending quality time with her family and friends.
