About Tina
Tina grew up in Brisbane, went to the University of Queensland and obtained her Bachelor in Oral Health in 2009. She moved to Gympie for the first couple of years after graduating as she found a great opportunity working for a state of the art practice. Since then she has laid down her roots on the Sunshine Coast, building her family and she has kept up her taste for quality high-end dental practices, working at Avenue Dental for more then 7yrs now. She is also our head of our Hygiene Team at Avenue Dental Kawana, ensuring unity and smooth running within the hygiene department and always looking for innovative ways to improve patients experiences.
Tina was drawn to dentistry when she was little having her fair share of dental experiences. Even though she had experienced dental pain and problems, those positive moments and great clinicians she had resonated with her and subtlety drew her to the profession. She always tries to keep visits positive for kids (with the help of bluey on the tv!) so they look forwards to coming next time! Tina continues to be fascinated by the ever evolving profession with regularly learning new topics in the industry, like silver fluoride, dental sleep medicine, early orthodontics and airway and sleeping issues in kids. Tina is especially interested in early airway assessment and how much that make a huge impact as to wether orthodontics will be needed in the future of not. Detecting issues early can not only make such a huge impact for later on dentally, but sometimes behaviourally too.
Outside of work Tina has 2 little boys to keep her occupied as well as their gorgeous Keeshond dog, Chewy. Her family life is very much full of camping trips and getting outdoors for walks or hikes on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
